Product Description
Detailed Specifications & Features

XLPE Power Cable Low Voltage 600/1000V Flexible Stranded Copper for Building Constructio

This low‑voltage 600/1000V XLPE insulated power cable is built with flexible stranded copper conductors (Class 5) and a durable PVC outer sheath. Designed for fixed installations inside buildings, it easily passes through conduits, trunking, and other tight spaces without special lubricants. The cable meets IEC 60502‑1 and is widely used for power supply in residential blocks, commercial complexes, and public buildings.

  • Cable code: CU/XLPE/PVC 0.6/1kV Class 5 flexible

  • Design standard: IEC 60502‑1 / BS 5467

  • Certifications: CE, RoHS, CPR (reaction to fire classes available on request)

Key Features

Feature Benefit
Class 5 flexible copper conductor Easier pulling and bending – reduces labour cost and installation time
XLPE insulation (90°C continuous) Higher current rating than PVC insulated cables of the same size
PVC outer sheath Good resistance to abrasion, oil, and building‑site chemicals
0.6/1kV rating Suitable for single‑phase (230V) and three‑phase (400V) building supplies
Flame retardant Complies with IEC 60332‑1‑2 (vertical flame test)

vailable Sizes – Current Ratings & Voltage Drop

*Based on IEC 60287, ambient air temperature 30°C, conductor temperature 90°C, buried depth 0.5m (soil thermal resistivity 1.2 K·m/W).*

Cross‑section (mm²) In air (A) Direct buried (A) Voltage drop (mV/A/m) – cosφ=0.85
1.5 22 20 28
2.5 30 26 17
4 40 34 11
6 51 43 7.2
10 69 58 4.3
16 91 77 2.7
25 120 101 1.7
35 147 124 1.25

70 225 190 0.65
95 273 230 0.50
120 315 265 0.41

Ratings for buried cables assume no other heat sources nearby. For circuits grouped in conduits or trays, apply standard derating factors (IEC 60364‑5‑52).

Application Guidance

Suitable for:

  • Fixed wiring inside buildings (conduits, cable trays, or direct clipping to walls)

  • Power supply to lighting circuits, socket outlets, HVAC equipment, lifts, and pumps

  • Feeder cables for distribution boards in residential and commercial construction

Not recommended for:

  • Outdoor burial without additional mechanical protection (use armoured cable instead)

  • Continuous immersion in water or direct exposure to UV (UV‑stabilised version available on request)

  • Installation & Handling Notes

    1. Do not exceed 90°C conductor temperature during operation.

    2. When pulling, keep tension within 50 N/mm² of copper area – use a pulling sock for larger sizes.

    3. Minimum bending radius (8ר) applies during pulling and after installation.

    4. Avoid sharp edges on conduits – use bushings.

    5. Store drums upright and off wet ground. Do not lay cables directly on hot surfaces.

    Packaging & Marking

    • Packaging: Wooden drums or plastic reels (standard export packing). Custom lengths available.

    • Cable marking (printed on sheath):

    • Also supplied with sequential metre marks.
