Overhead Insulated Cable JKLYJ 0.6/1kV Aluminum-core Cross-linked Polyethylene
JKLYJ is a single-core overhead insulated cable rated at 0.6/1kV, featuring an aluminum conductor and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. Designed for fixed installation in AC overhead power distribution lines with rated voltage 0.6/1kV and below, this cable is widely used in urban power grid upgrades, suburban expansion, and forest area electrification projects where reliability and safety from external interference are critical.
This cable replaces traditional bare conductor overhead lines, significantly reducing phase-to-phase short circuits and ground faults caused by tree branches or animal contact.

Applications
JKLYJ 0.6/1kV overhead insulated cable is suitable for:
-
Urban power distribution networks — particularly in densely populated areas with narrow streets and limited clearance
-
Rural and suburban grid construction — for overhead fixed installation
-
Forest area electrification — weather-resistant XLPE insulation ensures reliable operation under varying climate conditions
-
Service drop cables — from pole-mounted transformers to customer service entrance points
-
Converter transformer drop leads — soft conductor version available on request
-
Fixed overhead installation or lead-in lines — for buildings and structures where outdoor cables are required
The cable can be installed with appropriate clearance from vegetation. Short-term contact with tree branches is permitted during normal operation.

Key Features and Advantages
- Weather-Resistant XLPE Insulation — Black XLPE compound contains UV stabilizers and carbon black for direct outdoor exposure, ensuring long-term electrical performance under sunlight, rain, and temperature variations.
- Higher Operating Temperature — 90°C continuous rating (vs. 70°C for PVC/PE insulation) provides higher current-carrying capacity for the same conductor size, reducing material requirements.
- Enhanced Safety — Insulated construction reduces phase-to-phase faults and phase-to-ground incidents common in bare overhead lines, making this cable particularly suitable for tree-lined streets, forest zones and populated areas.
- Excellent Mechanical Properties — Cross-linked structure provides improved tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and deformation resistance during installation and long-term service.
- Lightweight and Cost-Effective — Aluminum conductor significantly reduces cable weight compared to copper alternatives, easing installation labor and lowering material costs for large-scale utility projects.
- Low Maintenance — XLPE insulation resists moisture ingress and aging, resulting in reduced failure rates and lower lifecycle maintenance costs.
- Strong Dielectric Performance — XLPE insulation offers excellent electrical insulation properties, with stable performance even under wet or contaminated conditions.
