Construction

Conductor: 185 mm² main cores (stranded from 0.5mm copper wires, 37 strands each) + 95 mm² neutral. For the 240/120 version, the 240 mm² uses 61 strands, neutral 120 mm² uses 37 strands.

XLPE insulation: extruded and chemically cross-linked. We check hot set elongation at 200℃ – must stay under 80%.

Filler: PP rope + a polyester tape wrap to keep the 3+1 shape round.

Inner PVC sheath: soft enough to cushion the steel tape but not too soft to stick.

Steel tape armouring: two 0.5mm thick galvanized steel strips, applied with 25% overlap. We run a continuous earth continuity test on the armour – typical resistance <0.5Ω per 100m.

Outer PVC sheath: black, UV stabilised. Printed: “YJV32 0.6/1kV 4×185+1×95” or “4×240+1×120” every metre.
